-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello everyone,
I'm trying to boot a few machines from an iSCSI target (stgt) running on RHEL5.5, but so far I have not been successful. I have tested that my iSCSI target is configured correctly, as I am able to mount the targets from other machines (booted from HD), and I was also able to install RHEL5.5 directly to the iSCSI target as well. I am currently using the latest git tree, but I have tested older versions but I still was not able to get gPXE to boot. The debug errors I get are as follows: gPXE 1.0.0+ -- Open Source Boot Firmware -- http://etherboot.org Features: AoE HTTP iSCSI DNS TFTP bzImage COMBOOT ELF Multiboot PXE PXEXT net0: 00:e0:81:41:f6:b8 on UNDI (open) [Link:up, TX:0 TXE:0 RX:0 RXE:0] DHCP (net0 00:e0:81:41:f6:b8).... ok net0: 10.254.10.27/255.255.255.128 gw 10.254.10.1 Booting from root path "iscsi:10.254.10.2::::iqn.2009-02.com.hamzahkhan:Zeus" SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#1) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#2) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#3) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#4) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#5) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#6) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#7) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#8) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#9) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 ignoring start-of-day error (#10) SCSI 0x14b34 25:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 err Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) SCSI 0x14b34 could not READ CAPACITY (10): Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) Could not initialise iSCSI device: Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) Could not boot from root path "iscsi:10.254.10.2::::iqn.2009-02.com.hamzahkhan:Zeus": Connection reset (0x0f0a6039) No more network devices My tgtd config is as follows: <target iqn.2009-02.com.hamzahkhan:Hades> backing-store /dev/DiskArray/Hades initiator-address 10.254.10.28 </target> <target iqn.2009-02.com.hamzahkhan:Zeus> backing-store /dev/DiskArray/Zeus initiator-address 10.254.10.27 </target> - From what I can tell this is a gPXE problem, not a problem with stgt.
