Nicholas Leskiw proposed the following answer: The initial thought was, make images in the composer, copy the image URLs, and make your own custom dashboards. Many people wanted a built in dashboard, so Chris made a dashboard system in Graphite. All the graph functions and options can be accessed in the dashboard by left-clicking a graph, so it is up to the user if you want many saved graphs or many dashboards.
