New question #216405 on Graphite:
https://answers.launchpad.net/graphite/+question/216405

For a service we're instrumenting, all of our metrics are suffixed with the
originating server. We're now passing these through an aggregator to get
overall values, and are no longer interested in the individual metrics. In the
future this will become even more relevant for us, as the sending servers may
be short lived cloud instances, and we wouldn't want to end up with tons of
different whisper files.

Is there a way to tell the aggregator to *not* pass along the incoming metrics
to the carbon-cache, but drop them and instead send just the aggregates?
If not, I'll see if I can get some development resources internally to build
such a feature. In that case, any pointers you can give me would be most
welcome.

Many thanks,
Jasper
