rowan posted a new comment: Just saw this one as it expired. I'm not sure if you can do it with the current version of Carbon, but the next version (aka. Megacarbon) uses the idea of a 'metric pipeline'. This means you can pipe the received metrics through the aggregator, then a filter, then finally to the writer, and achieve what you have asked for in your question (I know because I'm doing exactly that). The only problem is that the documentation for the new versions is not quite there yet.
