#433: Enable (de)selection of map layers in workspace via CTRL or Shift

In the wxgui, one can add a subset of a mapset's map layers to a workspace
by using a wildcard search pattern; it would be useful to be able to use
the CTRL and/or Shift keys to make more precise selections, where the
desired maps do not conform to some common naming convention.
