Never knew of its existence (not referenced at http://grass.osgeo.org/wiki/GRASS_AddOns) ! I think that with the move in 6.4 to SQLite as default db backend, this won't be as necessary as before, so not sure if we really need it in the main source tree... Maybe you could "ease" installation by making it installable via gem ?
