@Michael, @William I did what I describe(d) above and, with the help of AnnaK, we got the GUI running. Yes, 2.7 and 2.9. It may be that it bears other, non-desired, sideeffects or dangers (?). However, I never really use OS-X and since the GUI is launching, we can go bug-hunting. Thanks, Nikos
