Brain just saw the Readme part and assumed the wrong one.

This one is for packaging, when you build an installer package with make 
bindist.  It will be installed in /Users/Shared.  It's an intro to get an end 
user started after installing a binary distribution.  From there they can get 
to the GRASS site for documentation, mailing list help and wiki.

Yes, lots of outdated stuff there, even the GRASS site link is old.  And it 
should probably not have my contact info.
