Dear list, thank you very much for your quick help, I omitted the color=rules flag as you suggested and the color table was set to the file.
As it was suggested yet, it would be very helpful to note this practice in the GRASS 6.4 and earlier reference books. Nevertheless, as I refresh the view with the appropriate raster layer selected, there is no visible difference in color scheme. Please see again the attached color file to avoid any misunderstandings. Are there any mistakes within the file?
