Since I'm already asking a lot today, why not another one?

In SAGA, there is a module that calculates 'Specific points of a
surface', among the results there is one called "mark highest
neighbour". Given a distance-to-features raster, it will give
something like the 'medial axes' of features. Any ideas on how to get
such map in GRASS?

reference of SAGA command:

Peucker, T.K. and Douglas, D.H., 1975:
'Detection of surface-specific points by local parallel processing of
discrete terrain elevation data',
Computer Graphics and Image Processing, 4, 375-387

cheers

Carlos
