Lucien, >From what I have seen, ESA maintains a proprietary format for ASAR data products. They have a free data viewer, EnviView, that also serves to to reformat ASAR data to other formats like hdf, TIFF, GeoTIFF, BIL... Which can then be imported by GRASS
