Hi Martin,

I wonder if wingrass7 from [1] is a new package. The date says 29th May, but
the release number in the name of the package says r46344 which is a bit old
as for the date.

I am looking for the way to try v.in.lidar on wingrass.

Cheers,
Milena

Hello
I have a problem, when I try to save workspace GRASS failed and give back
this error message.
"Reason: ascii codec can't encode character u'\xe0' in position 59: ordinal
not in range(128) ...."
I'm using GRASS GIS 6.4.2svn version and WIN XP.
I hope to find some help here.

just have a look at

http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/browser/grass/trunk/mswindows/osgeo4w/package.sh#L96

v.in.lidar isn't activated yet in wingrass7.

you'll need pkg-liblas (libLAS A library for manipulating .LAS LiDAR data) from
osgeo4w.

liblas supports vertical datums. as a side effect of this, the
wingrass7-installer would be
increasing in size (~ 100 mb) because - for this support - additional datum
files are needed which can't be
compressed.

best regards
Helmut

That was one of the ideas but soon I realised wingrass7 is not included in
osgeo4w package.
I wanted to avoid compiling myself :)

Best,
Milena
