Hi Markus,
libintl3.dll is gone. It looks like it was removed by
\OSGeo4W\etc\preremove\grass64.bat. during the install.

I see. Meanwhile I have found this page:

http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/libintl.htm
"Libintl is a library that provides native language support to
programs. It is part of Gettext.
...
LibIntl-3 is in LibIntl-0.14-.. and in Gettext-0.14-.. "

Perhaps a working solution?

I have also found this suggestion:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4757911/where-is-libintl3-and-libiconv2-for-gnu-make-on-windows-needed-to-compile-vim-w

"... http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlinks/make-dep-zip.php
appeared to have the dependencies..."

Could you please try and report?

thanks
Markus

Hi Markus,
Thanks for the library. I replaced it in the ..\apps\msys\bin from which it
was deleted during the installation. To make a long story short, I also had
to replace the other 2 libraries that were deleted, libiconv2.dll, &
regex2.dll. Once all 3 of these libraries were re-installed Grass 6.4.2
started and appears to function normally. Thanks again for your help.

Regards, Rick

Hi there

I'm facing a little problem running python scripts in the 6.4.2RC3 version
on windows7 64 bit.
If I'm trying to run a .py script through the command line a window pops up
saying: "python.exe is not working anymore" and an Error massage as down
below is displayed in the command report:

Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: can't initialize sys
standard streams
  File "C:\Grass Gis\GRASS
6.4\Python25\lib\encodings\__init__.py", line 120
    raise CodecRegistryError,\
                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more
information.

I would be really greatful if somebody could give me some tips on how to
deal with it.
The script is not the problem by the way.

Thanks a lot,
Dan

Would you mind to update to the recently published final version of 6.4.2?
It now uses Python 2.7:
