Ali,
it is always safe to open files, the file content is only changed when
you save them. You can make a backup of course, this is always a good
idea.
If you saved those files with grasshopper version {0.5.0050} or
{0.5.0060} then they will have incorrect number formatting *if* you're
running on a locale that uses commas as decimal symbols. Version
{0.6.0061} no longer has this issue. Older grasshopper versions used
the *.wrm format, which was binary and thus never has problems with
number representation.
