It does not need to be done with "clusters" per se.  Clusters are made
up of other components...uhm, this is a horrible analogy, but think of
them as "zip" files...they make a bunch of files into one.  So, if you
explode those clusters, you will find all of the components that go
into making that up...its a way of clearing up the canvas by
organizing the components into one piece with all the i/o.
