Can be used? Anything, within the appropriate laws for your country, assuming you are the sole author/whatever the restrictions are in your country.

Assuming the US because that's where I live and thus what I know: literally anything, again assuming you are the sole author (or perhaps have the appropriate documentation from other contributors, i.e. they are your employees). Suggestions? I'd go for either BSD or MIT, perhaps Apache. These are all "free" licenses in that they are minimally restrictive. If you are a copyleft sort of person, then choose GPL. Personally I'd go for GPLv2.

But ultimately there are no restrictions because it's a user script, so use your own best judgment.
