If you can generate a list of pages that (potentially) need changes, the easiest solution is probably to drive the browser from a command line script, and only let Greasemonkey do the editing if an entry with an old image is detected. Simply open each page in turn and let Greasemoney perform the steps to edit the post.
If you have access to the server editing the posts in the database might be a suitable alternative.
