It works fine for me. I can browse from Firefox's File menu, or just drag-n-drop a script onto the browser window to bring up the installation GUI.

Are you sure your scripts have the proper .user.js extension?

Why can't i install a script file (js) by browsing files in my computer? Why only click on webpage links? I would like to save the script file and install it later. But greasemonkey doesnt provide us an option to install from our computers.
