Civil Society Intervenes in President Dr. Kalam's Development Agenda for Kerala Consultation on September 10, 11 - 2005 At the PWD Rest House - Next to Town Hall, Thrissur Patabhedam announces a consultation between activists, civil society organisations, development thinkers and academics on the development agenda that President Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad has mooted for Kerala. Dr. Kalam's 10 point development agenda has generated an unprecedented consensus across the political divide in Kerala, ably and skillfully abetted by the mainstream media. While not being negatively disposed to any efforts at ushering in long term vision in the planned development of the state, civil society organisations strongly believe that any such vision must firmly rest on sustainable development paradigms borne out of the true aspirations of Keralites. It is in this spirit that a consultation that seeks to respond to Dr. Kalam's development agenda for Kerala and propose the broad contours of a genuine people's development vision for Kerala is being held. We will begin by 10 a.m on Saturday the 10th and conclude by 5 p.m on the 11th. Food and accommodation will be courtsey an organising committee formed to host the event at Trichur led by Dr. M.R Govindan, Prof. V.G Thampy and Mr.Poonam Rahim. Please do contribute whatever you can towards partly defraying expenses. A small note on your development vision for Kerala in general, or one that focusses on your field of expertise/ area of involvment, would help focus your intervention at the consultation. Do confirm your participation at the earliest to: Civic Chandran Ph: 0495 - 2384073/ Tomy Mathew 0495 - 2765783 [EMAIL PROTECTED] With our good wishes, Prof. P.
