What is revealing is the outmodedness of Deshabhimani of their understanding. But more frightening is the language the Left has fallen for. Sathmanyus enamored by the crass governmental power is defeating one self. The revolutionary potential of internet was largely harnessed by the Left movements fighting neo-imperialism and resisting Americanized Globalization.
The puncturing of intellectual content is no more than the arguments put forward by the Sathamanyu. Anivar forwarded it to Green youth only because it was published in Deshabhimani. The same content with slight changes and with a new author name would be fit for publishing in some white supermacist news papers preaching universal hatred of minorities and Communists. The crass power has made the Left go berserk and they have internalized and more thoroughly speaking the language of US republican establishment. New Labour's Tony Blair has done this and the repugnance of of the neo-reactionary language of the New Labour was scathingly addressed by the British Left like, Hobsbawm, Eagleton et. al. Where are the Kerala Left intellectuals? Just read the Sathamanyu stuff. Are these Sathamanyus guiding the CPM leadership? Some one was asking here, Where are the Gandhians Gone?, I feel like to ask Where are the Left intellectuals gone?. Be with CPM but at least advise them not to speak the language of war on Terror. That is the minimum expected out of the Leftist belonging to CPI(M). If you don't have the courage, you should be ashamed of oneself.
