*PRESS INVITATION* * * *PRESS CONFERENCE*** *ON FACT- FINDING IN KASHMIR BY A JOINT TEAM OF CIVIL LIBERTIES ORGANISATIONS * [Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee(APCLC), Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL(Bangalore)), Jammu and Kahmir Coalition of Civl Society (JKCCS) and Peoples Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR)] A joint team of four civil liberties organizations from different parts of India visited Kashmir between 22 August and 25 August. They were first hand observers to the protests at Idgah on 22 August, as well as the state's response to these democratic protests ie the imposition of curfew, and the ensuing implications and repercussions of these recent events. The team also investigated some of the killings by security forces in Kasmir in the recent past in reaction to popular democratic protests.
