one thing that i found amazing in slumdog is that "bharatdarshan" from trains.
those shots straight away reminds one of gandhi's similar voyage in
attenborough's gandhi.
it's also intersting to note that (as t.muraleedharan had pointed out about
gandhi in his dissertation on "raj films") while the child actors who
portray jamal's childhood have a black-brown complexion,the adult jamal - dev
patel- has got a perfect WASP look,not to mention the english accent.
(PS: if my information is correct the child actors are from mumbai slums and
dev patel is from US)
