Interesting, and unfortunate. I too have known such instances of moralism masquerading as pro-woman activism. On the Left, a very alert kind of gender education is needed to correct these kind of tendencies. I've often noticed that in the name of opposing capitalism, what happens is that feudal values ('family' values etc) are defended - forgetting that the Left after all should be resisting capitalism from the standpoint of *socialism*, and that even capitalist 'individualism' in sexual relations etc is an *advance *over feudal kind of relations.
