CPM politburo member Sitaram Yechury picked a war of words with Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Thursday, saying that she "insulted the people of Bengal" by not attending Basu's last journey on Tuesday. Mamata was quick to remind Yechury that she would not take this lesson from the CPM, and announced that neither she, nor anyone from her party, would attend Basu's condolence meeting at Sahid Minar on January 24. In this issue I amy fully supporting Kumari Mamta Banerjee's decision. Mr. Yachuri is a dishonest Politician. In fact afterwards, he suddenly changed his mind in favour of Shri Jyoti Basu, once he went Switzerland along with Shri Basu. It is a strange that Mr. Yachury strongly blocked Basu's installation as Prime Minister of India, as he himself telephoned and informed to Shri S S Singhania. But suddenly his mind was changed, once Shri Jyoti Basu arranged his trip along with himself for Switzerland at whose cost if not of Kolkata Land Mafia?
