Dear friends, After pursuing magazine journalism for six years, now it is time for me to return to daily newspaper journalism. I am joining Times of India in Coimbatore as Special Correspondent in-charge of the news bureau. I will start working there on August 1. TOI is launching new editions in Coimbatore and Madurai by September this year. I will have an 11 member team to report from Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Krishnagiri, Salem, Erode and Tirupur regions. Hope my friends in this community, who worked in these regions in different capacities or working at present, would give valuable suggestions to run the show successfully. I think the new responsibility would help me focus on social and environmental issues plaguing the Nilgiri hills, where I spent my childhood.
I will have an office and residence soon in Coimbatore. Welcoming each and every group member, who visits Coimbatore from now onward, to my new abode. At least, i can promise food, accommodation and local hospitality. The new contact numbers would be posted here soon and anyone can knock at my door even during midnight.
