With the direct and proportionate election results coming to a complete end
on Thursday, Nepali Congress is likely to get 196 seats in total, followed
by CPN (UML)'s 175 seats, UCPN (Maoist)'s 80 seats and RPP-N's 23 seats in
the 601-member Constituent Assembly.

This figure became possible as the Election Commission has indicated that
31 parties getting votes more than 18,600 in the Proportional
Representation (PR) system will be considered eligible for a seat in the
coveted Constituent Assembly.

In the PR system vote count, which concluded on Thursday, it is expected
that NC will get 91 seats followed by the UML's 84 seats. Similarly, UCPN
(M) will get 54 seats, while RPP-N will receive 23 seats.

The EC is yet to make a formal announcement in this regard.
