Here is a real-life illustration of vicious and vitriolic communal campaign, presumably currently underway in UP, by a female adherent of the Hindutva Brigade: <https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=624627090988164> (posted on this August 27).
The interesting points are that it makes explicit and emphatic appeal to ignore caste divisions (among Hindus) and also pitches vociferously for women's empowerment, of course couched in and justified in terms of scriptural imageries. And, the protagonist is a woman, while the obliging audience is largely male. That shows that the Sangh Brigade is quite capable of adjusting to the imperatives of changing times and adopt new approaches while keeping the core mission - of mobilising Hindus as "Hindus", a homogenous and monolithic entity which defines itself mainly in terms of its bitter opposition to and bloody conflict with the adversarial "others", intact. In fact, the very uniform of the RSS - khaki shorts and white half shirts, not known to have been the battle-gear of either Rana Partap or Chhatrapati Shivaji - is just a compelling illustration of its *selective* adoption of Western "modernity".
