The Dravidians, Adivasis, Dalits, Muslims and Christians in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and elsewhere up to Orissa must remember one important aspect of their history from where attacks on their identity began. The Ashoka Chakra which flies on our theaters before every feature film represents a great `Chakravarthi' called King Ashoka, who is responsible for the greatest blood bath in the history of those times on the marginalised identities. I can only empathise and sympathise with all Dravidians, Adivasis, Dalits, Muslims and Christians who spiritually stand up in front of flying `Ashoka Chakra' in theatres today. I have repeatedly seen this before every propaganda black and white documentary of the Films Division during my childhood and youth, but today I enter theaters, only after assuring myself that they do not begin with anything which increases my stomach trouble.
