Islamophobia spread widely within the geography of India after the demolition of Babari Masjid. Islamophobia spread widely world wide after September 11. The post-Babari Masjid terrorists were understood to be the Sangh Parivar in India and the September 11 work is understood as a work of Islamic terrorism. Interestingly, in the Indian context, whether it be Islamic terrorism or Hindutva terrorism, Islamophobia will increase! I can understand the Islamophobia of the Sangh Parivar. I can understand the Islamophobia of a section of the secular forces also. I can understand the Islamophobia of even a section of the Christians in India. But, I am still trying to understand the Islamophobia of some of the Muslims who wish to be identified as non Muslims.
