Change,  Government of India *maintains studied silence *about India's role
with regard to white chrysotile asbestos at  9th meeting of the  Conference
of the Parties  to *UN's **Rotterdam Convention** on the Prior Informed
Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in
International Trade*. Notably, the UN Meeting was concluded on 10th May,
2009 but the Press Release was issued on 16th May, 2019. Government's
silence on white chrysotile asbestos is deafening.
