The GoI will make disclosure, as regards the allegations against itself, only to itself - a committee of "experts" chosen by it and tasked to declare that the allegations are all bogus, and, then, issue a clean chit to itself and hold its opponents responsible for trying to subvert "national security".
The highest court of the land must not seek any role in this process except as a stamping agency for the GoI. *In short, any serious charge of wrongdoing on the part of the GoI must be adjudged by the GoI - and only by the GoI, itself; and none else.* *And it's for the GoI to decide whether the complainants would be charged for treason. * *That's meant to be the "New Normal" in "New India".* The issue is whether the Court just meekly submits or asserts its Constitutionally assigned authority. Not to mistake, either way, *this case* *is*, *thus*, *slated to become a watershed event in the annals of post-Independence India*. The next hearing is due after nine days. Let's see - how the dice rolls. <<Yesterday, the Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing to today to ascertain if the Union Government wanted to file an additional affidavit in the matter. This was after the petitioners highlighted that the "limited affidavit" filed by the Centre has evaded the question whether Government or its agencies have ever used Pegasus. Today, the Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta told the Court that the affidavit already filed by the Centre in the case is "sufficient" and a further affidavit is uncalled for. The Solicitor said that if the Government is disclosing in public that it is not using a particular interception software, the terrorist organizations will take advantage of that information to change their communication settings. He said that such matters cannot be placed in an affidavit and be made a matter of "public debate". At the same time, the Solicitor added that the Government will place all the details before the proposed technical committee, which he assured, will consist only of neutral officers.>> (Excerpted from: < https://www.livelaw.in/top-stories/pegasus-snooping-issue-supreme-court-issues-notice-before-admission-to-centre-on-pleas-for-probe-179710 >.) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Green Youth Movement" group.
