Yesterday, eventually, Priyanka Gandhi was released from the (illegal?) state custody and, thereafter, a Congress delegation - led by Rahul and Priyanka, launched its visit of the ground zero - the affected families, braving constant obstacles put up by the state. (In the meanwhile, the Supreme Court has suo motu taken up the case of Lakhimpur Kheri viole and it'll be heard today by a bench headed by the CJI.)
The visiting team consists of several members - including two chief ministers. So, the illegal detention, eventually, comes to an end. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel are in another vehicle. Sources said they may first stop at Nighashan in Lakhimpur district, the native place of journalist Raman Kashyap who also died in Sunday's violence. Nighashan is around 100 km from Sitapur.
