Dear all,

I've recently spent some time on Gregorio, mainly on bugfixing (many bugs are fixed, many certainly still remain) and installation simplification.

The main changes are the fixing of:
 - https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?20558 which, as a side effect, fixed
many other bugs with the last note of porrectus
 - https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?20795, fixing also hyphens on italic
and bold, which were broken (should improve many scores)
 - bar height was sometimes wrong (thanks to Br. Gabriel-Marie)
 - a small blank line was appearing after double bar at end of line
   (thanks to Alexandre Domblides)
 - some segfaults (thanks to Olivier Berten)

Also the following improvements were made:
 - (not directly related) TeXLive 2013 is working better and faster
with LuaTeX, polyglossia is working too
 - Gregorio is adapted to TeXLive 2013 (TeXLive 2008 support has been
   dropped)
 - some speed improvements
 - font installation is now really easy (used to be very complex)
 - windows installer updated and working better

Before starting to implement new features, I would like to make the 2.3 release. Before I do it, I would like the current state to be deeply tested by as many people as possible. If you have time for it, please test as much as you can and report bugs on https://gna.org/bugs/?group=gregorio (with a minimal working example). For people under Windows to test, I've updated setup.exe in http://download.gna.org/gregorio/releases/2.3/.

In a week or so, if things stabilize, I'll officially release 2.3. Is there a Mac User able to make a package for Mac? There is a documentation in the macosx folder of the svn. Also, Jérôme, would you arrange the release on debian?

In the next release I'll start making some improvements, like the features requested by Andrew Hinkley. Alexandres Domblides (in copy) is also motivated to work on ancient neumatic notation. It's possible but it's quite a big project. If some of you are interested, I'll make another mail soonish to talk more about this topic.

Thank you,
--
Elie
