Dear Fr. Tran,

You've come to the right place. First, you are right. The old
gregorio-2.0-universal-OSX.pkg.zip
is way out of date. I suppose it MIGHT still work, but I haven't tested it
with 10.8.4 and I would not recommend its use. It is fortunate that you avoided
it.

The new one is gregorio-2.3-macosx-intel.pkg. It is reasonably current
and is supposed to work. I have not personally tested the .pkg. I prefer to use
SVN and get the latest source. That way I can build the latest version.

You have two choices. Method #1, I can guide you through the SVN &
build route, which requires Xcode (from Apple), MacPorts (an open source
repository), and the use of the Terminal. I prefer this method. Method #2 is to
just use the supplied .pkg's. They may not have the latest updates, but neither
do you need Xcode or MacPorts. Let me know which way you want to go.

That said, what it looks like is that your tex path is missing the
location of where gregorio's .tex and .sty files are stored.
~/Library/Gregorio/tex/ is not normally part of the standard Latex/Tex path and
this is likely the problem. To see if this is the case, enter into the terminal:

        kpsewhich gregoriotex.sty

It will show you if its on the tex path. If it is missing, as I expect, then
the .pkg need to be fixed.

Side note to David Gippner <[email protected]>.

I haven't looked at the .pkg that you put together, so I do not know
where everything gets installed by it. But, from the above, I take it that
you've put everything in ~/Library. This is probably OK for the.tex, .sty, and
fonts, but it's not a such good idea to store examples etc. For various
reasons, Apple makes the ~/Library folder invisible in OS 10.7 and subsequent,
so many users will not know it's there. Also, this strategy does not work well
on multiuser machines. Installing it into ~/Library means that only that user
can run gregorio.
I recommend installing the gregorio .tex, .sty, & fonts into
/usr/local/texlive/texmf-local and the examples into ~/Documents or perhaps
/Users/Shared. This way gregorio is available to all users.
