As Elie said, think of the structure, the table of contents.

I’m sharing you my project of missal for the ordinary form in the of Dom 
Lefebvre’s ones.
In this file, you will see the command \input{another_file} : it helps to 
create the table of contents … with no content !
Using this method helps to work :
- with small files
- in a team, each one is responsible for only one part of the book, so many 
parts can be done at the same time

About the layout, it will be automatically applied to each part as it will be 
defined in parent document. I think Elie’s advice about asking someone if 
needed is a very good advice.
