Mr. Olivier,

So, I downloaded those code files and placed them in:
C:\texlive\texmf-local\tex\luatex\gregoriotex

but it didn't have any effect on the issue. I'm still gettting double clefs. Is there somewhere else I should place those files?

God bless!

Unfortunately this has been fixed after the 2.3 release <http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/gregorio?view=revision&revision=1246>. So you'll have to use the SVN version later than rev 1246.

    Thanks, Justin,

    That doesn't seem to be working. It just carries the
    last stated clef and then places this one, too. All
    you are doing is putting the (c2) or (c3) at the
    beginning of the line, followed by a space. I tried
    that, but am still having trouble.

    Here is my test (attached is my gabc and my output):

    name: test;
    %%
    %
    (c4) a[   scale](a) b(b) c(c) d(d) e(e) f(f) g(g) h(h)
    i(i) j(j) k(k) l(l) m(m) (::)(z)
    (c3) a[   scale](a) b(b) c(c) d(d) e(e) f(f) g(g) h(h)
    i(i) j(j) k(k) l(l) m(m) (::)(z)

    Greetings, Brother Gabriel-Marie,

    I simply include the new clef in line with the text,
    as in the example below. (Note, please, that this is
    not chant--it is a 13th century troubadour song in
    Occitan, but it goes through at least two clef
    changes.) I do usually start the new clef on a new
    line for the sake of clarity when reading the gabc code.

        Hi, all.

        How can I change the clef of a new staff?

        If the first staff started with (c3) and I want a
        new staff that starts at c4, but within the same
        gabc file, what can I do? If I type (c4) at the
        start of the new staff I end up with two clefs!
