The original poster wanted to know how to block custos at the end of a particular line (in his case because the next line was "E U O U A E."). While not supported directly in the current implementation of .gabc, the following "hack" creates the desired effect:

Define the macros given above (m1) and in the previous post (m2) in the header of your gabc file. You can then use "[em1]" in the notes to start blocking custos and "[em2]" to resume them in your score.

There are plans for the notation "z-" and "Z-" to make a line break without a custos, but this has not yet been implemented.
