c) Another problem I've been having (not sure if this has always been the case, but at least has been so with release-3.0 from its inception) is that (z) and (Z) do not seem to work as I expect from the documentation. When I want to leave a line unjustified and move to a new line, I've found the only way to do it often is to pad the line with a block of ()()()...()(z) whose length I determine by trial and error. Have I missed some new documentation on this?
