Greetings Gregorio community. Many thanks for all your valuable help thus
far. I am up and running. At this time, I am working on Divine Office
books for Lent. This is more a TexWorks question than a GABC question, but
hopefully someone will have some information.

The custom in my community is to insert a downward arrow on three-line
stanzas whenever they occur in psalmody. Hence, we would want something
like this for Psalm 3, which we recite at the beginning of Vigils each
morning.

Arise, Lord; save me, my God, \downarrow

you who strike all my foes on the cheek,

you who break the teeth of the wicked!

My trouble is that I cannot get that \downarrow to show up. I took a lot
of pure math courses in college and used to use LaTex to complete homework
assignments. I have loaded the amssymb package. But when I typeset this,
I get the following error.

61
Missing $ inserted.
<inserted text>
$
l.61 Arise, Lord; save me, my God, \downarrow

Any assistance welcome! Thank you, as always!

Brother Noah
