As for your actual question:
is there a way to ask Gregorio to truncate the staff following the conclusion of the user-inputted content?
There is no automatic way of doing this. GregorioTeX draws the staff lines at the beginning of each line before it knows how far across the page the notes will go. As a result, the lines will always go the full width of the page. One thing you can do is encapsulate the include score in a minipage environment. This environment temporarily simulates a smaller page width (which you have to specify manually), thus causing GregorioTeX to draw shorter lines. ✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝✝ Br. Samuel, OSB (R.
