Laudetur Jesus Christus! Thank you for allowing me on this mailing list. It has been awhile since contributing to the list as my new nomination has sent me to Nigeria.
However I have not been idle. I would just like to share something with the other users of Gregorio: I have been able to install Gregorio with ShareLaTeX! ShareLaTeX [https://www.sharelatex.com/] is an open-source web application for editing LaTeX files. Since it also supports LuaLaTeX, my natural thought was to combine this with the Gregorio Project. I searched google to see if anyone had done this, but there is only mention of attempts - however, by perservance and the grace of God, I have succeeded. As the Chinese proverb says, a picture is worth a thousand words: https://goo.gl/photos/5DcujDzSp96TFhkv7 The installation is currently here: http://latex.sspx.ng If you would like an account to test it, just send me an email and I will register one for you : mailto://[email protected] Note that I am still undergoing a lot of testing on this installation to see if it is viable for a large deployment, so don't put your masterpiece on this service without at least keeping a local copy [You can download your project in the interface]. I would appreciate any comments on the usability of this installation, and if you find any bugs please let me know! I think it could be very useful for those who want to work together on a project in a semi-visual manner. You should note that there is a chat function for comments and also a version control system built into the application, so changes can be reverted. If nothing else, it can be a way of sharing Gregorio compositions that gives a very nice preview. I should also say that it is currently running in a VirtualBox image on the server, so performance is not going to be the same as on the metal, but it is quite sufficient. If anyone would like an export of this VirtualBox image so that they can use it on their computer, I would gladly make one available. I spent several hours getting all the parts to work together with Gregorio, and I can also write down the complicated process if someone wants to make their own installation on a dedicated server. Hope this proves of use to the community of the Gregorio Project and the further advance of the Sacred Chant in the Church, for the Glory of God! In Christo, -- + Fr.
