have put it back and the result is the same but for the last few lines of the

The problem is that LuaLaTeX cannot find the gtex file. So, does the file
exist?
Based on the beginning of the log, greg-book did not find any files for
compiling itself so either those gtex files already exist and are up to date
(according to greg-book) or the greg-book detection algorithm is being thrown
off by the optional argument. I'm in the middle of preparing a release and
cannot dive into the repository history until that's done, but once I've posted
the release I'll take a closer look.
