It looks like the combination of commands you are using is using the
line numbers (from lineno.sty) to automatically set the page style. To
prevent those line numbers from showing, gredoc.sty makes them white,
which is normally invisible. Since you've set a background color,
however, this is no longer the case.
You have two options:
1) Change the color of the line numbers to match the background color
you've set. You need to either change the color in line 72 of
gredoc.sty, or add your own
`\renewcommand\linenumberfont{\color{*yourcolorhere*}}` after gredoc.sty
is loaded.
2) Suppress the line numbers entirely. You have to be careful when
doing this, however, as we only want to suppress the printing of the
line numbers, otherwise it will screw with the automatic page style
setting. I think the best way to do this would be with
`\renewcommand\thelinenumber{\relax}` based on what I see in the
lineno.sty documentation.
