I notice that the use of curly braces to specify syllable centering is now
deprecated. What should one do when there's a number at the start of a hymn
verse that is not part of the syllable that I want the notes centered over?
Before I would do

(::) 2. {You}(ghg)

Now the curly braces have no effect. If I do the following

(::) 2.() You(ghg)

then it adds too much space after the the previous double bar. I know that
I could do

2.(::) You(ghg)

but sometimes that messes up the spacing at the end of a line when the
double bar should appear there but the 2. etc. should appear on the
following line.

Any hints?
