Of course, if you are typesetting only for a particular page
width/magnification/font size etc., it is ok to handle it manually, see if
the bar is typeset at the end of line or not and decide based on that about
the placement of the number or V/., A/., R/., Ps. etc. - either put it
under the bar or before next syllable.

The problem is if you write gabc that might be used in multiple contexts
(different page width/magnification/font size/GregorioTeX spacing tweaks)
that it really doesn't work anymore, one needs often more than one version
of a particular IN/OF/Hymn etc.

So, I think we want some way how to specify a syllable being conditional
on whether the bar above it is at the end of line or not (then we'd have
to duplicate it, like:
... <noteol><c><i>Ps.</i></c></noteol>(::) <eol><c><i>Ps.</i></c></eol>
B{e}(...)
or instead some markup that will put the syllable centered below the
current gabc snippet if it is not emitted at the end of line, or
assumed to be no text there and the actual text prepended to the next
syllable if the gabc snippet is at the end of the line.
... <whatever><c><i>Ps.</i></c></whatever>(::) Be(...)
