If you have installed TeXLive 2016 (through any distribution channel) on
your system (all platforms) and have installed a 4.2.0 release candidate
(either one), I would greatly appreciate it if you could run our
system-setup helper script (.command for Mac and Linux, .bat for
Windows) which can be found in the contrib folder of your
download/installation folder and post the resulting log file here. I
had to fix some version conflicts on my own system under this situation
and am trying to determine if those conflicts were due to the quirky
history of my system or are something more systemic which need to be
addressed.
