Well, according to your website FAQ Griffith was called after D. W. Griffith, a famous movie director. The FAQ also mentions his movie "The Birth of a nation". Just read the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_a_Nation#Ideology_and_accuracy After the movie was shown in the cinemas the Ku Klus Klan revived. So, from my point of view, this is a quite critical name for a software.
