[doc,man/*]: Clarify behavior of `als` request.
The check for _existing-name_ occurs before _new-name_ is (re)populated,
so this request is not a destructive act if it would fail anyway.
Sync text; parallelize request description between groff(7) and
groff_diff(7) (and our Texinfo manual).
