Always use .PP to start a paragraph, including initial paras after headings. Partly, it's for semantic clarity. Also, if you omit the .PP after .HEADING 1, the first time you use .PP afterwards will result in a non-indented paragraph since mom indents only second and subsequent paragraphs. > Second question, is it a recommended style not to indent the first > paragraph, at least in English typesetting?
