I went ahead and ordered the GTX 680 before I saw your reply. It was $200, so roughly $100 cheaper than a GTX 770. I might have ordered the 770 had I noticed it. I had decided I couldn't afford a 780 but wasn't aware of the 770.
In any case I think I will be happy with the 680 as long as the memory test gives good results!
